Organising your maling campaig
Who organises my mailing campaign?
You can manage your own camapign or have WebMagic do it for you. A campaign requires two components, a template for the mailing itself and a mailing list. You can design your own template, use one of our off the shelf remplates or have WebMagic design one for you.
I would prefer to do my own but is it very complicated?
No, setting up your campaign is very straightforward, if you have no knowledge of creating web pages then you may prefer to have WebMagic create your template for you or use one of the free templates. Once you have your template you can use it again and again simply replacing text and images into the pre-defined areas.
How do I prepare a mailing list?
You need to upload a mailing list so that the campaign can be distributed. A typical list could be produced in Excel which would then need to be saved as .csv file. Alternatively, it could be exported from an existing database with the ability to export directly to .csv or into a suitable file format for conversion.
I just purchased a mailing list, is this suitable?
No, WebMagic does not permit the use of purchased mailing lists for distribution. WebMagic's mailing service is approved and verified by leading mail companies, resulting in fewer of your mailings ending up blocked as spam. To ensure the integrity of this service no spam may be sent via the system. Recipients on your list must have subscribed to receive mail from you or have purchased goods from you in the last two years. Addresses on a purchased list did not ask specifically to receive mail from you and is therefore considered spam.
How would you know if I bought the list?
You may be asked to verify the source of your list, this may entail supplying the urls on your website where customers can subscribe to your list or evidence that subscribers on your list have made purchases from your company in the last two years.
How much does it all cost?
If you are going to handle the campaign yourself, all you will pay is the cost of the mailing. Currently this involves a £5 set up per mailing campaign and then £12.50 per 1,000 mailings.
How much does it cost if you do it all for me?
Webmagic will give you a quote based on your requirements. The actual mailing cost is the same as above, plus the additional cost for template design, preparing the mailing list if required and testing the campign prior to sending.
What if the campaign I design goes wrong?
If the html email has been correctly set up it should not go wrong. Some customers may have difficulty viewing html emails, so your template should either use the facility built into our templates for viewing in a browser or you should add a link to a version on your website. You also have the facility to test your campaign prior to bulk mailing.
I don't want an unsubscribe link on my mailing?
The unsubscribe link is a legal requirement and must be included. If this is left off your template your campaign will be rejected when you try to send it.
Do I have to be an existing WebMagic customer to use this service?
No you can use the service without being an existing WebMagic customer.
How do I pay for the service?
If you are an existing WebMagic customer you can request WebMagic bill you for the mailing. If you are not an existing WebMagic customer you will be asked for your credit card details prior to making the mailing. No credit terms apply on mailing campaigns and all services must be paid prior to mailing.
